River Valley SRA "Chilly Willy Walkers"
We had 19 friends, family and Special Olympic Athletes join us in supporting the Arthritis Foundation in their annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk. Our group raised over $600 and had a great time on Sunday, December 11. We enjoyed a crisp winter morning and benefited from some walking and running to help this cause.
River Valley SRA raised over $700 for this years Polar Plunge. The water was cold and the wind was strong, but all for a GREAT cause.

River Valley Special Recreation Association recently received a $700 donation from the Tri K Triathlon Club. The money was raised during the club's second Tri The Du duathlon Oct. 2 and will help support Special Olympics programs. 2010 Volunteer & Athlete of the Year

Tim Brown was presented with the 2010 Athlete of the Year Award by Pam Bright, RVSRA's Special Olympic Coordinator.
We presented our Volunteer and Athlete of the Year awards at our annual Valentine's Dinner Dance held at the Civic Auditorium on February 11. The Volunteer of the Year award was given to Mike LaReau. Mr. LaReau, from Bourbonnais, was selected for his work with many maintenance repairs and remodeling projects at the SRA office. Tim Brown of Bourbonnais was named Athlete of the Year. Tim has been participating in Special Olympics since the early 70's. He has always shown support for his teammates. He loves playing volleyball and golf. We are excited to announce Tim as our new Athlete of the Year.
